Event Management for the Enderby Wharf Regeneration Proposals

Enderbys Wharf Regeneration

Ian Simpson Architects and West Properties had prepared proposals for the regeneration of Enderby Wharf, Greenwich and the listed Enderby House.
The Wharf has been identified in a study by the Mayor as a cruise terminal destination given the presence of deep water alongside the wharf and the extensive maritime history of Greenwich.

The site also provided the potential opportunity to provide a new river bus stop operated by Thames Clipper together with new public realm linked to the Thames Path, residential and hotel accommodation, a skills academy, crèche, studio workspace and the refurbishment of Enderby House as a tourist information point and cafe.

Developments along the Greenwich waterfront always attract a great deal of local interest and conservationists are  active in monitoring planning applications for their suitability in an area of outstanding beauty and heritage.  Anticipating the interest of the local community and in order to seek constructive feedback on the proposals prior to the submission of a formal planning application, Lorraine was approached to market, host and manage a 3-day event to enable the developers to engage with local stakeholders.

A comprehensive event management plan was successfully deployed and the event took place in the heart of the community at Christ Church in East Greenwich where plans of the proposals were displayed and members of the development and architectural teams were available to answer questions.  The consultation received extensive coverage on and offline, in local press and via a range of other means which resulted in the event being well attended.

"It is important a public exhibition and consultation event is accessible to the widest audience available. The input from Lorraine was crucial in securing this audience via a well organised and co-ordinated marketing campaign. In addition, Lorraine provided intelligent, well considered and timely inputs into the preparation of the exhibition venue and during the course of the three day event. Her consistent help, detailed knowledge and trustworthy enthusiasm throughout was crucial to its success."
